SSVEP-EEG Denoising via Image Filtering Methods

Steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) is widely used in electroencephalogram (EEG) control, medical detection, cognitive neuroscience, and other fields. However, successful application requires improving the detection performance of SSVEP signal frequency characteristics. Most strategies to enhance signal-to-noise ratio utilize a spatial filter. Here, we propose method for image filtering denoising (IFD) from perspective analysis, as preprocessing step analysis. Arithmetic mean, geometric Gaussian, non-local means methods were tested, experimental results show that cannot effectively remove noise. Thus, proposed reverse solution which noise was obtained by filtering, then subtracted original signal. Comparison recognition accuracy before after evaluate stimuli different duration. After IFD processing, exhibited higher accuracy, indicating effectiveness this method. Application improves characteristics, combines processing brain expands research scope analysis widespread application.
